Sheldon R-VIII Shares Local Wellness Policy Assessment Results
At Sheldon R-VIII School District, we are committed to creating a healthy, safe, and supportive learning environment for all our Panthers! Part of that commitment includes regularly reviewing our Local Wellness Policy to ensure we are promoting healthy eating, physical activity, and overall student wellness.
As part of this process, our district completed a Wellness Policy Assessment in April 2026 to evaluate how our written policy addresses federal requirements and recommended school wellness practices.
We are proud to share that Sheldon R-VIII received scores of 100 for both policy comprehensiveness and policy strength!
These results reflect the strength of our written wellness policy and its focus on nutrition education, healthy school meals, physical activity, and student well-being.
While we are pleased with these results, we also recognize that student wellness is an ongoing effort. Our District Wellness Committee will continue reviewing our practices, monitoring progress toward wellness goals, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
We Want Our Community Involved!
Parents, students, staff, and community members are encouraged to review our wellness assessment results and share their ideas. Your feedback helps us continue building a school environment where every student has the opportunity to be healthy and successful.
Our most recent wellness assessment results are available through the link provided in this article.
If you have questions, suggestions, or would like to participate in our District Wellness Committee, please contact Superintendent Kevin Post at kpost@sheldon.k12.mo.us or reach out to any committee member.
Thank you for helping us make Sheldon R-VIII a healthier place to learn, work, and grow!
Once a Panther, Always a Panther!
